A few years ago, my spouse and I traveled to Montreal. Having mainly ridden our bikes for recreation in Saskatoon, we were intrigued by the Bixi bike share system and the excellent bike infrastructure. The combination of the two elements made for a far better trip than had they not existed. We were able to safely travel great distances to see unique and interesting parts of Montreal that we would have otherwise not experienced. I realized on that trip that strong cycling infrastructure helps create a liveable city.
